EGM& AGM of Salalah Mills Co. (S.A.O.G) Agreed the distribution of 65% cash dividend to the shareholders on the paid-up capital
Salalah Mills Company held its Extraordinary & Annual General Meeting on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Hamdan Plaza Hotel. The Chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Rawas commenced the session at three o’clock in the afternoon with greetings and appreciation to the shareholders, Board of Directors, representatives of government and private agencies present. Later the Chairman addressed the General assembly and presented the Annual Report and the important events that took place in 2015. While presenting the Financial Results he added that the parent company’s revenue grew by about 2.4% over the previous year.The Chairman of Board of Directors of the Company Sheikh Ahmed bin Abdullah Saeed Al Rawas explained the internal systems of the company and the extent of its effectiveness and efficiency of the control. He talked about the social responsibility of the company, and the importance of the company’s social role as the company has disbursed 72 Thousand Omani Riyals during 2015 for equipment and programs that has benefitted the local community The Chairman also informed the AGM that the net profit of the company for the year 2015 was to 5.4 Million O.R., showing an increase of 10.6%, The Chairman also announced the approval of the AGM for the distribution of cash dividend of 65% to the shareholders on the paid-up capital.

Salalah Mills Co. celebrated the annual staff gathering on Saturday (26/3/2016) at Crown Plaza Resort Hotel. The ceremony was attended by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Ahmed Alawi Al Dhahab, General Manager Mr. Ahmed Amer Al Shanfari, other Departmental Managers, and staff.
The ceremony was inaugurated by the CEO, who thanked the staff and praised their performance. He noted that the company could make achievements due to their efforts. CEO presented the most important plans and objectives for the year 2016 before the audience.The CEO stated that this ceremony reflects the company’s keenness to uphold the culture and values of human resources, which means creating a stimulating work environment, promote constructive communication and nurture family spirit among employees from different functional levels, which enhances individual success and improve institutional performance for the company.The function was preceded by many recreational activities such as competitions, games and the winners were awarded gifts.Finally, the company honored employees who have completed 10 years of service, the best manager, best head of section and the best employees.
Salalah Mills Company receives the largest shipment of grain in its history
Salalah Mills Co. has received the largest shipment of grain in its history. 75000 tons of wheat on board vessel ‘MV DARYA MA’ reached Port of Salalah at the end of September-2015. which was also successfully discharged in record time. It is worth mentioning that Salalah Mills Company is the largest flour mill in Oman where the production capacity is 1,500 tons per day. The newly constructed silos can store 120,000 tons of wheat. The company imports between 400-450 thousand tons of wheat per year and exports 30% of its production to Yemen, African Horn, and Tanzania. The Salalah Flour Mills flour is a preferred choice in those countries due to its premium quality.Salalah Mills Company has disclosed last month a plan to add a new flour mill with a capacity of 600 tons per day, which is expected to commence production in 2017.
Board of Directors’ resolutions to increase production capacity and paid capital of Salalah Mills Company

The Board of Directors met on Thursday the 27th of August and decided the followings:
1. Based on Feasibility study conduct by Expert House, the Board of Directors decided to add a new flour mill with a production capacity of 600 Metric Tons per day. The project cost will be about RO 7.5 million. The new mill is expected to commence production in the first quarter of 2017.
2. To raise paid capital by 10% through the issuance of right preference to shareholders in the first quarter of 2016, at the price of RO 0.750 per share.
The new production expansion project comes within company’s strategy to promote the company as the biggest flour mill in Oman and one of the largest flour mill in GCC countries and exploit the company earlier investment in increasing grain storage capacity and higher discharge rate of wheat in the Port of Salalah. 50% of the cost of the new project will be financed by the facility from the machinery supplier and the balance 50% by issuing new shares. The current production capacity of Salalah Mills Company is 1,500 Metric Ton per day. The company reached 94% utilization last year and 100% utilization in the first half of the current year. The new expansion will provide flour for growing demands in the domestic market and export markets, which is sold under the brand name “Al Khareef.” Which is known for it is premium quality.
SALALAH MILLS TO BUILD RO4MN POLYPROPYLENE BAGS FACTORY
Salalah Mills Company announced that it will establish a factory for polypropylene bags with the production capacity of 48mn bags per year.The board of directors of Salalah Mills approved the establishment of the factory for polypropylene bags at a cost of RO4mn, the company said in a filing to Muscat Securities Market on Sunday. “It is expected to start production by the end of 2016. The project will be financed by facilities from equipment suppliers and commercial LOANS,” Ahmed Alawi al Dhahab, CEO of Salalah Mills said.
Public Establishment for Industrial Area organize 2 programs in collaboration with Salalah Mills Company (SAOG) in Raysut Industrial Area
As a part of their annual training plan, the General Establishment for Industrial Estates organized two training programs in the Raysut industrial area, the first entitled “Occupational Health and Safety at Work (IOSH)” under the auspices of Salalah Mills Company (SAOG). The program focused mainly on the importance of healthy working environment, as well as the risks and common accidents in the workplace and the damage they cause. The program was aimed at scientific and practical ways and methods to deal with risk, accidents and how to avoid or mitigate harm.The program was a set of systems, processes, and procedures to improve the performance and safety and the tools which enhance the emergency measures. 19 employees from various companies and factories in Raysut Industrial Area of the General Establishment for Industrial Estate participated in the program.Public Establishment for Industrial Estates also organized another program in the field of “values and work ethic,” where the program included many topics such as the importance of corporate values and how they affect the behavior of individuals in the company. The lecturer Mr. Mohammed Saddam, a Human Resources Development expert also explained the administration values as a concept in the administrative interview in companies and factories. He also narrated the role of values in the expression of the company’s goals and its impact on the quality of service or product. He also emphasized on ethics in the process of decision-making at the company level and the impact on the behavior of individuals and their behavior in the work environment and their role in enhancing the performance and productivity level. The program was attended by 20 employees of Salalah Mills Co. On the conclusion of the program Mr. Ahmed Alawi Al Dhahab, the Chief Executive Officer of Salalah Mills Co. S.A.O.G. handed over certificates to the participants.
SALALAH MILLS COMPANY HELD ITS ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AND APPROVED DISTRIBUTION OF CASH DIVIDENT OF 65% OF PAID-UP CAPITAL
Salalah Mills Company held its Annual General Meeting of shareholders on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Hamdan Plaza Hotel. The Chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Rawas commenced the session at three o’clock in the afternoon with greetings and appreciation to the shareholders. He shared the happiness of members of the Board of Directors and the Omani people on the occasion of the return of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to the homeland. He then discussed the important events during the 2014 and the financial results, where the parent company’s revenues grew by about 13.9% over the previous year. The Chairman of Board of Directors of the Company Sheikh Ahmed bin Abdullah Saeed Al Rawas explained the internal systems of the company and the extent of its effectiveness and efficiency of the control. He talked about the social responsibility of the company, and the importance of the company’s social role as the company has disbursed 62 thousand Omani riyals during 2014 for equipment and programs that have benefitted the local community.The Chairman also pointed out that the net profit of the parent company amounted to 4.8 million rials, an increase of 24.1% in 2014. Based on the company’s policy on the distribution of profits the Annual General Meeting approved the distribution of cash dividends of 65% of the paid-up capital.
Salalah Mills Co. employee attains membership in IRCA (UK)
Mr. Sasidharan. K, Quality System Section Head has been awarded membership by International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA, UK) as a Certificated Auditor of Food Safety Management System. He has joined the company in 1997. The Management & Staff congratulated him for his achievement.
Staff of Salalah Mills Co. attends training program for the development of leadership, supervisory skills and team building
The Human Resources Department of Salalah Mills Co. in collaboration with International Academy for Training & Rehabilitation held a training program namely leadership and supervisory skills development and team building for the period from 7th to 10th December 2014 at Crown Plaza Resort Hotel, Salalah. A total of 20 staff comprising of Head of Departments and Supervisors participated in the training program.This comes in the wake of company’s continuous keenness to enhance the knowledge and skills of its employees. The training session included workshops and exercises as well as theoretical explanation, presentations, and discussions. The training program is aimed at promoting leadership and supervisory skills of the staff , how to create and build the executive plan of action and how to manage time efficiently and effectively in order to streamline business processes and systems development According to the human resources manager of Salalah Mills Mr. Mohammed bin Aqeel Al Hadi , the course is part of the annual training plan for the staff on developing the skills necessary for analysis, diagnosis and solving business problems through the use of modern innovative tools. The training mainly focused on how to make the necessary changes to create an excellent work environment and how to cope with the resistance to change that appears consequently.
Staff of Salalah Mills Company attended Training on the latest budget preparation and analysis methods
The Human Resources Dept. of Salalah Mills Company in coordination with M/s Rasikh Center, conducted a training session for preparation and analysis of budgets and financial statements for the period from November 16 to 19, 2014 at Salalah Gardens Residence Hotel. 21 employees participated in the session which included the Managers, Section Heads, and supervisors of different departments of the company.This training session was conducted as a result of the keenness of the company to enhance the knowledge and skills of its employees. The training was conducted by D. Munir Shakir, which included workshops and practical training as well as theoretical explanation, presentations, and discussions. The main objective of the training was to educate the staff on the latest budget preparation and analysis methods.According to the human resources manager of Salalah Mills Co., Mr. Mohammed bin Aqeel Al Hadi, the course is part of the annual training plan to enable the participants on the preparation and analysis of all the budgets of the company.At the end of the session, the CEO of Salalah Mills Co., Mr. Ahmed bin Alawi Al Dhahab delivered certificates to the participants.
Salalah Mills Co. Conducts Fire Drill Exercise In Association With Civil Defense in Raysut Industrial Area

Salalah Mills Co. organized Mock Fire Drill in their premises in association with Civil Defense in Raysut industrial area on 30th October-2014. The mock exercise was aimed at familiarizing the employees with alarm systems, practicing evacuation procedures in the event of emergencies, monitoring safe and timely evacuation. The drill was quite successful as the exercise was completed in compliance with all emergency procedures. The Top Management of Salalah Mills Co. thanked Civil Defense in Raysut industrial area for their guidance in this valuable exercise.
Salalah Mills Company Honors The Staff

Salalah Mills Company has hosted a special dinner party at Hamdan Plaza Hotel, Salalah on 21st October 2014, for honoring the staff who worked during ‘Eid Al-Adha’ holidays for unloading the vessel ‘MV. Vishva Uday’.The event was attended by C.E.O. Mr. Ahmed Alawi Al Dhahab and General Manager Mr. Ahmed Amer Al Shanfari, apart from Departmental Managers and staff. The CEO praised the staff for their dedication and wished them to continue this performance. Later he also distributed Appreciation Certificates to the staff who participated in the operation.

Wheat grower delegation from Western Australia visited Salalah Mills Co. S.A.O.G. on 11th Sept-2014, as a part of their visit to GCC for strengthening bilateral relations with the region. The 15 member delegation was brought to Oman in partnership with leading wheat supplier CBH Group. The C.E.O. of Salalah Mills Co. Mr. Ahmed Alawi Al Dhahab extended a warm welcome to the delegates and accompanied them while visiting the factory facilities.

Salalah Mills Company participated in the first exhibition for career opportunities at Dhofar University on Wednesday, 07/05/2014 under the patronage of Dr. Hassan bin Saeed Kashoob the Vice Chancellor of Dhofar University. The exhibition aimed at finding job opportunities through direct contact with companies and institutions for hiring and look at ways of working with them. More than 15 institutions took part in the exhibition.

Salalah Mills Co. held Annual General Meeting and Extraordinary Meeting on Thursday 27/3/2014 which approved increasing the number of board members from the existing 9 to 10. The AGM also approved the Annual Report of the company for the year 2013. The Chairman Sheikh Ahmed Bin Abdullah Saeed Al Rawas stated that there was 20% revenue growth for the parent company during the year 2013 compared to the previous year. He also stated that the company was awarded shield by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry during the contest of His Majesty’s Cup for Best Five Factories for the year 2013. The Chairman also explained the internal regulations of the company and the trends of global wheat prices during 2013. The Chairman also informed the AGM that the net profit of the company for the year 2013 was 3.9 Million R.O., showing a decrease of 5.7 % compared to the previous year, due to the re-evaluation of long-term loans, while, the net profit for the group was 4.9. Million R.O. The Chairman also announced the approval of the AGM for the distribution of cash dividend of 60% to the shareholders on the paid-up capital.

Salalah Mills Company participated in the third exhibition for career opportunities and training at the College of Applied Sciences in Salalah, organised by the Career Guidance Office in the college for the third consecutive year on Tuesday, 25.3.2014 under the patronage of Mr. Salim Awadh Al Yafaei GM – Salalah Airport in Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC). the exhibition was attended by Dr. Zaid Zabanoot the College of Applied Sciences Dean – Salalah and general managers of government and private institutions and academic staff, administrative and college students. The exhibition aims to introduce the student to the job opportunities in the market and to enable the business organization to get to know the student interest and capabilities.
Salalah Mills co. conducts a baking training in Mukalla, Republic of Yemn

In association with M/S Salim Abdurrahman Bajersh & Sons company, Salalah Mills Company conducted a baking fundamental training program in Mukallah city, Republic of Yemen.The course was conducted by Mr. Ahmed Ramadhan the head of Research and Development Section and it was attended by bakeries technical staff. The course was aimed to introduce the bakers to the basic and the correct approach to the baking products.At the end of the program, a small ceremony was made to appreciate the participant’s effort in learning by giving out certificates and prizes to them.
Salalah Mills Co. SIGNED CONTRACT FOR THE WHEAT SILOS PROJECT

A contract for the civil work for the wheat silos project was signed between M/s. Salalah Mills Co. S.A.O.G. and M/s. Al Gharbia Enterprises at Salalah.Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al Rawas, the Chairman of Salalah Mills Co. S.A.O.G. signed the Agreement on behalf of the company with the Chairman of Al Gharbia Enterprises. The contract costs 1.1 Million Omani Rials and the duration of the construction period will be 120 days. The project consists of the construction of the foundation, tunnels for 12 Nos. of Steel Silos, which will accommodate 120,000 M.T. of Wheat, in addition to wheat cleaning and receiving tower foundation.Early last year the company had signed a contract with FRAME an Italian Co. for the supply of steel silos as well as with Buhler AG of Switzerland to supply handling and control equipment and machinery for the silos project. Both of these projects cost about 2.2 Million Omani Rials.Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al Rawas described the new Silo project as an important milestone in the history of the company and it is also considered as a contribution to Oman’s food security. This silos project has come up to meet the company’s production requirement of 1500 M.T. per day. He added the total cost of the project would be 3.6 Million Rial Omani, and it is expected to be commissioned by the year end.The C.E.O. of the company Mr. Ahmed Alawi Al Dhahab explained that there were 9 premium companies who had competed for this ambitious silos project and the Executive Committee carried out the financial and technical evaluation of their offers. Finally Al Gharbia Enterprises was awarded the contract being the best offer. He stated that, with the completion of this project, the total storage capacity of the company will raise to 160,000 M.T., which will meet 4 months’ production requirement of the company .

Salalah Mills Co. celebrated the staff annual get together in the evening of Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Hilton Salalah Resort, which comes in the context of building team spirit and closer relations among employees. The ceremony was attended by CEO Mr. Ahmed Alawi Al Dhahab, and General Manager Mr. Ahmed Amer Al Shanfari, apart from Departmental Managers and staff.The CEO praised the staff for their performance that led the company to win the shield in the competition of His Majesty’s Cup for the best five factories in 2013 and also welcomed the attendees and new employees enrolled in the company during the year 2013. He highlighted the achievements of the company during the year 2013 and also spoke about the ongoing projects such as new wheat silos, new stores and branch offices in Muscat and the new p.p. bags. Plant project. The CEO thanked the Board of Directors for their guidance and appreciated them for their continued support and interest in the development of Omani employees. Later the General Manager distributed certificates to employees who have completed various training programs during 2013. The C.E.O. handed over the shield to the Best Department of 2013 and distributed certificates to the Best Employees of 2013 as well as employees who have completed ten years of service in the company. Finally all the employees attended the grand dinner party.

The prizes were distributed at a ceremony held by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on December 26, 2013, at Al Bustan Palace Hotel in Muscat.
